The Mexican entity has already begun the implementation of this agreement by publishing a report on “Security technologies in the Chilean mining sector”, which highlights the development of regional companies.

Antofagasta, 17 May 2023 – The agreement obtained in the trade mission developed in 2022 to the state of Hermosillo, in Sonora, Mexico, is considered a real success by Agencia Redes. Through a call made by ProChile Antofagasta, a coaching group of women participated and managed to travel and do business at an international level.

The results of this collaboration appeared in April 2023, when the first milestone of collaboration between the Mining Cluster of the state of Sonora in Mexico was achieved through the exchange of digital content between the regional magazine “Norte y Energía” and the magazine “Minería para Tod@s”.

The founder and manager of Agencia Redes, Paola Quezada Quiñones, valued the joint work, pointing out that, “this agreement begins by sharing content between the media; the initiative was born in 2022 in Mexico, but has come to fruition this April with the publication of information in the magazine “Minería para Tod@s” (Mining for All). We have a number of ideas to implement as this agreement progresses, and that’s why we are grateful to ProChile since, without this prospection in the Mexican market in which we participate, it would not have been possible for us to achieve this international agreement.”

For her part, the regional director of ProChile Antofagasta, Marcia Rojas Ponce valued this agreement and indicated that, “it is always satisfactory that a company that has participated in a trade mission organised by our institution reaches an agreement with international companies, that is our goal, to make a match between supply and demand, and that more companies in the region reach agreements to export goods or services”.

The alliance between the Region of Antofagasta and the State of Sonora in Mexico is a concrete example of the cooperation and joint work that they have committed to carry out, with this publication being the initial milestone for future activities.

Quezada also acknowledged the support of ProChile Antofagasta: “I am eternally grateful for the opportunity, because it was not easy to decide to become an exporter, however when I joined ProChile, I was able to learn about the world of exports and on the other hand access this opportunity, and thus be able to negotiate with the whole world because globalisation allows it; however it is important to recognise the value that the ProChile Antofagasta office gives to local and regional suppliers, for all the potential they have, and therefore I emphasise that they have a way of supporting us in a way that is very good for us”, she said.
